Kohnert, Advisor: Hello, my name is Robert Kohnert and this is my 6th year as the advisor for Model UN at Southwest. During that time, we have grown from a group of around 12 going to one conference a year to having well over 100 members attending 5 conferences, two of which are traveling. I enjoy traveling and being able to interact with students in a different way outside of school. Model UN provides a great experience to work on a large number of different skills, all while addressing some of the most important issues facing the world. Please feel free to stop by room E102 anytime to ask questions and get information about how you can get involved!

Anna Smalley, Co-President: Hi! I'm Anna! I am a junior and have been participating in Model UN since I was a freshman, and I'm super excited to be one of the Model UN presidents this year! I spend a lot of my time outside, playing soccer or alpine skiing or golfing or running, actually I just do a lot of things. Fun Fact: I love cheese and Mario Kart. My favorite thing about Model UN is learning about how different countries view things. I can't wait to see everyone at meetings!

Strom Keehn, Co-President: Hi my name is Strom Keehn, I am a senior and co-president of Model United Nations at Southwest! I have participated in the Model UN club since freshman year and I love doing it. It's a great way to learn about international diplomacy while also working with people you know and making new friends. Besides Model UN I also participate in tennis, NHS, and wind ensemble at Southwest.

Tobin Chin, Position Papers: Hello, I am Tobin Chin, the student representative in charge of policy and position papers. This is my third year at Southwest High School and my third year participating in High School Model UN. If you need help writing and submitting your position papers, understanding the rules of conferences, or most anything Model UN related, I am the one to talk to. My favorite part of Model UN is the platform it gives students to solve and assess real world problems in a professional setting, allowing them to ponder over the crises diplomats are faced with and the repercussions their decisions yield. When I'm not deliberating over moral dilemmas or finishing schoolwork, I enjoy practicing photography, playing Cello, participating in film club, and writing short stories.
You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am usually able to respond within a day.
Adelaide Fanner, Communications: Hello! My name is Adelaide and I am a junior, I started Model UN during freshman year and still love it! I have a lot of fun being on the cabinet and being in charge of communications. I love to run, go skiing with my teammates, and taking my dog on walks. The best thing about Model UN to me is debating issues and how to resolve them, with people who have different points of view than I do.
